Heidi Roberts Collection
Heidi Roberts Collection is all about creating unique handbags for women who appreciate wearable art accessories. An individual who is not afraid to stand out in the crowd. We believe in mixing denim and leathers or furs to churn out pieces to admire for all seasons. We use various leathers, denim, and beads to create a truly creative design. I started the Heidi Roberts Collection as a means to merge an artist background with a love and passion for fashion. With a background in General sculpture and textile design my talents continually leaned towards creating functional art, thus the Handbag, one of the best ways to express myself creatively.
Regarding a design nightmare, well I once created a one of a kind bag for a celebrity who I will not name. This bag was my greatest achievement, and I worked extremely hard on it. However to get it to 'said celebrity' I needed to make my way to the Hamptons where they were to be hosting a fashion party. I scouted the Jitney schedule while at my day job, and planned to trek out there to present my pride and joy alone. Luckily at the last minute, I secured a ride, and needless to say after 3 hours driving, and waiting around at this very small out of the way event, I never even glimpsed the celebrity, and my contact who was to introduce me was not very unhelpful as he was in the middle of presenting his own line, of which he's already established. Such a nightmare! The bag was instead gifted to the new saxophone player of Beyonce's new all girl band...so at least its possibly near notoriety..
What makes all of this worth it is to reach the point where I will be able to spot someone I don't even know sporting my bag, and seeing them appreciating it as much as I appreciate the wonderful gift that I've been blessed with...being Creative!
